Season’s Greetings!
Short blog this week to wish everyone the happiest of holidays and a joyous New Year! Also don’t want to forget service members far from home during the holidays. So thankful to live in a nation with an all-volunteer military and especially thankful for those young men and women making the commitment to defend our freedoms. Truly America’s best!
Check out the cool featured pic for this blog. The image is from holiday cards the Army gave us to send home when I was stationed in Korea from 98-99. In case you are wondering, Korea used to be commonly referred to as “Freedom's Frontier”. As I recall, they gave us about 10 cards to send home and I sent one to my mom. She really loved it and hung onto it all these years!
I served a few more tours in Korea as well as other operational and combat assignments but don’t recall the Army ever providing holiday cards again. Unfortunate it appears this tradition disappeared in the late 90s but thankful I was able to experience it!
2020 has certainly been a challenging year for many. I hope this holiday season offers a moment to pause and reflect about the reasons we celebrate this time of year as well as bring hope for a joyful and prosperous 2021.
I won’t be blogging next week but will be back in the New Year with all kinds of interesting content! Looking forward to all the opportunity and possibilities 2021 may hold.
