Reason for the Season

I’ve been so caught up lately in our rental business, helping my oldest with college applications, the day job and about 99 other things that I almost missed Christmas! I’m not talking about the decorations and gift giving, although I’m behind on that as well.

I’m talking about pausing to remember the real reason why many celebrate this time of year. This season marks a time to celebrate the gift of love, peace and hope. Thankfully, it looks like the next few days are slowing down enough to spend some time in reflection on the reason for the season.

It is a bit ironic. All the things I mentioned in the first paragraph are wonderful gifts – a good job, healthy children and successful investments, but sometimes even our gifts can distract us from pausing to remember the truly important things.

For this reason, I’ll keep it brief this week. However you may celebrate the season or if you don’t celebrate at all, I hope you have a wonderful day filled with peace, love and hope for a new tomorrow!
